Reel Hamlet.
Reel Hamlet is an exciting new development from Studio Coates-Campbell. Located in the Ilkeston Junction region of Derbyshire, the site promises to create a smart method of communal living without sacrificing privacy or identity. The project exists as part of a wider masterplan for the Junction area, where the revival of the site is held as a driving factor in its design. As a mixed-use residential quarter, the site houses over 60 dwellings as well as a cinema, auditorium, film studio, and a range of shops and amenities for the residents to enjoy.

Regenerating Ilkeston.
The objective is to establish residences that cultivate vibrant communities, transcending mere housing clusters lacking in character. Individuals will be able to coexist, engaging in varied interactions across the site. These spaces will prioritise outdoor access and natural light, ensuring privacy remains intact. Embracing nature, outdoor amenities will promote active lifestyles, seamlessly integrating green areas into housing to foster harmonious human-building interactions and facilitate uninterrupted daily routines.
Community Proposal.
The architects from Studio Coates- Campbell held a presentation in the Ilkon Creative Arts Centre to propose their scheme to the local council and the general public. During this event, the studio managed to discuss potential developments with the community to amend the initial proposal.
