Reel Hamlet.
Proposal.
The Regeneration of Ilkeston Junction.
"For Every Reel of Dreams, a Home to call you Own."

Regeneration Phases.

Phase 1.0
Create Homes.
With a housing crisis that is affecting the population, the scheme addresses the necessity of affordable dwellings and high-density living. It also demonstrates how high-density living doesn’t have to be rows of houses without identity but instead an interesting and diverse urban landscape.
Phase 2.0
Inspire Communities.
People of different backgrounds will be able to live and interact together. The organisation of spaces will promote this style of living, where individuals will be able to have common activities based on communal facilities.
Phase 3.0
Embrace Nature.
Seamless integration into nature is prioritised with Reel Hamlet, where residents are able to access the outdoors without compromising privacy. This will facilitate interactions between the residents and the building to help the residence feel more like a community.
Ilkeston Junction Masterplan.
The regeneration of Ilkeston’s Junction region has been divided between seven architecture studio’s. Each of the sites have a different response to the site, based on the aim of rejuvenating the Junction. Along with this, there are three creative industries implemented. These include: Film, Art and Music.
The responsibility of Plot G was on Studio Coates- Campbell and has now been given the identity of Reel Hamlet. The site accommodates a film studio and cinema (along with residential quarters) to re-purpose the industrial use of the site and bring Ilkeston into the future.

Typologies.
As part of our manifesto there are 4 key typologies included in the scheme. These include:
- Residential Quarters.
- Film Studio.
- Cinema.
- Work and Live residence.
Having these spaces included in the site will help enforce each phase of the proposal as well as regenerate the live and work environment of the site.
